Feeling confident that you are getting the best Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) is really important.
At Brunel we couldn檛 agree more.聽 That is why we employ our own full-time, Careers & Employability Coach to work with all students in the Academy.聽 Their role is to provide impartial, objective advice and information to young people, and their parents, about the different pathways open to young people as they progress through their schooling.
You can find the Careers and Employability Coach, Craig Jordan, on the First Floor outside the Staff Room.

At 糖心APP Academy, Our CEIAG activities are aligned to the eight Gatsby benchmarks. The Gatsby benchmarks were created following an international study of career guidance.

External Providers
糖心APP Academy welcomes requests from Businesses, Employers, Higher Education, Further Education, and Training Providers to meet with our Students for the purposes of inspiring students to believe in themselves, to support students to achieve outstanding results and to advise students on how to become successful members of the local, national and international community.
Examples of meaningful opportunities for students might include, but are not restricted to:
- Assemblies
- Guest speakers who are industry specialists.
- Careers and Employability lessons
- Attendance of local post 16 providers at key parents/support evenings.
- 淧op up shops� (informal lunchtime information and advice stands)
- Career Club (lunchtime and after school help and support)
- Mentoring/Coaching
- House Team / Extra Curricular activities
- Staff professional development
- All staff INSET/Conference day workshops
糖心APP Academy is a large, successful and modern Academy where a traditional curriculum and pathways ensure that students achieve well in all subjects; opening doors to their future. The highest expectations and standards create a professional and purposeful atmosphere that supports and inspires all students to achieve. Outstanding pastoral care removes barriers to learning and supports students to develop personally into individuals that make significant contributions to their community and beyond.
Provider Access Policy Statement
Provider Access Legislation
The provider access legislation is a new law that is coming into force in January 2023.
The updated provider access legislation (PAL) specifies schools must provide at least six encounters for all their students:
- Two encounters for pupils during the 榝irst key phase� (year 8 or 9) that are mandatory for all pupils to attend
- Two encounters for pupils during the 榮econd key phase� (year 10 or 11) that are mandatory for all pupils to attend
- Two encounters for pupils during the 榯hird key phase� (year 12 or 13) that are mandatory for the school to put on but optional for pupils to attend
The new legislation will become a key mechanism to further help learners understand and take-up, not just apprenticeships, but wider technical education options such as T-Levels and Higher Technical Qualifications.
